Teach English in Guoying Zhongjie Nongchang - Cangzhou Shi
Unit 18 presented modal verbs like may and might, relative clauses, phrasal verbs, and the passive voice. Modal verbs are important for students to learn because they are used for polite requests and to express uncertainty. A good activity for students when learning modal verbs is role-play. Relative clauses are a group of words containing a subject and a verb. Phrasal verbs are verbs made-up of more than one word. There are three types. Learning these structures allows students to begin writing and speaking using more complex language. The passive voice describes what is being done or what has been done to an object. The object becomes the subject. All of these stuctures allow students to begin using English more fluently.
