This first unit was an introductory overview of the two main components in the classroom: the teacher and the student. I was able to learn the main roles that a teacher must take on; this is important since in planning a lesson for the students the teacher must also be aware of what his or her place in that lesson is. The breakdown of student levels and motivations was also necessary on account of the manner by which a teacher approaches subject matter for a class or individual being tutored. Although it was general, I still found it useful for the sake of making me aware and giving me things to think about. Overall, the unit was a good introduction and was effective in conveying significant aspects of these two components.
