This unit I have learnt that people have different motives to read and listen to something and our understanding of things will differ each time due to the subject and how much we are interested in that subject (interest as a purpose or pleasure). So, in a classroom it is for everyone's benefit if the teacher vary the classes with different subjects over time. Of course it is more difficult at the beginning of school year if the teacher is not familiar with students but this will be only for a short time and can be manageable if the teacher pays a little bit more attention the the materials and tasks, avoid complex texts and basically keep it simple (not in a super easy sense) and build interest before the activities start.
