This unit emphasized the importance of developing a course to teach English learners. Depending on age and ability, you can use a level test to see where your students are with learning the English language followed by a needs analysis. Once these are complete a syllabus should be written or followed, when teaching your specific course. Preparation for examinations will be part of the learned curriculum. Progress tests given at least once guages the student's knowledge.
