This unit talked about possible problems that may arise in the classroom. This is really important for teachers to always keep in mind so we can avoid them whenever possible. This unit discussed problems that may be caused by student behavior and student ability. It was especially helpful to learn about what we can do to avoid the problem of a mixed-ability classroom. This unit also talked about the advantages and disadvantages of using the native language in class. Of course, we should strive to use English whenever possible, but that doesn't mean students using their native language is always a bad thing. Responding only to English is a wonderful idea to promote using English when possible, even if it's not perfect English.
