This unit focused on troubleshooting. It started with how to conduct a first lesson, which differs depending on whether the students/clients are a new group or an existing group. A teacher should not use the native language with students, otherwise they will be encourage to communicate in their native tongue rather than attempting to express themselves in English. Students may have difficulties with listening to texts, but rather than skipping that section entirely the teacher should make the students aware of any difficult vocabulary they may hear later in the audio. I feel like through this unit I have learned how to interact with students on the first day in a way that will establish boundaries and a good classroom rapport.
