I find this unit short and very helpful. It brought back to the topic of the Engage Study Active style in teaching and lesson planning. I appreciate the suggestions in choosing the vocabulary. I often have troubles choosing the vocabulary to teach my students or often choosing a topic. I focus on appropriacy to the students' environment and their motive for learning when I have to choose a topic and the vocabulary.This final unit touched on how to approach your first class as a teacher. Avoiding grammar work is key, keep the class light and fun, establish a relationship with your students and determine their abilities. Also mentioned were the possible steps to take if you encounter issues with a mixed level or a large class. A native language should be avoided unless a student is having trouble explaining an idea in English.
