I realize that to someone from another country trying to do their job, do regular daily things in America, or connecting with other English speaking people that it is so important to use the correct usage in the sentences. It would be a problem if they told a coworker they had done the job and what they meant to say was that they had meant to. This could result in problems at the work place, conversations, and life.In this unit I learned of the different forms for the past tense. I learned of the various usages for each form of the past tense and some common mistakes that students make when learning them. I began to note some of the patterns between the different tense that will make learning and teaching them much more manageable. There are many irregular verbs in past simple which might be difficult for students to grasp.
