In this unit I learnt about the past tense and its four aspects: past simple, past continuous, past perfect and past perfect continuous. Each of these times has differet forms and usages, although sometimes the latter can overlap from one tense to another. It was very useful also to read about the most common mistakes that students tend to do when using the tenses and about some teaching ideas for the activate stage.Reported speech is very useful and very important to comprehend. A good lesson plan must include several strategies to help students practice the reported speech such as: intermediaries and media interviews. The guide of tenses from direct speech to reported speech is very helpful and it is a great idea to share it with students so they can practice and remember the different changes of tenses. It was a great lesson.
