This module has been useful in showing me the various techniques and methodologies used to teach the English language. I have found the section on ESA most enlightening and useful in guiding me to understanding how to build a lesson plan that would be interesting and stimulating for the students I teach. Understanding the different methodologies has helped me appreciate ESA for its balanced, student cantered approach.Unit 13: Teaching Pronunciation and Phonology. This unit looks at how we use intonation and stress to emphasize our speech . The importance of this unit cannot be over emphasized,some of the reasons include: This unit provides a comprehensive teaching on pronunciation and phonetics which are major keys in teaching any language. It also gives a clear explanation on phonology, phonemic alphabet and phonemic symbols.
