This unit deals with different aspects of classroom management (eye contact, gesture, grouping students, classroom arrangement, teacher/ student talking time, etc). After studying the unit, I have become more aware of my tendency to be a bit rigid in my teaching approach. Now, I know that I should explore other alternatives and ideas when I organize both my position and student?s position in the classroom. In addition, I can see that being focused on the relationship between teacher/student talking time is essential to find a good balance during class. Finally, the unit explains some ideas about discipline. At my work, I have had many students with discipline problems and, after reading the unit I have learnt some ideas about responding to problem behavior. I think that the ideas I have found more useful are: 1-Act immediately (Sometimes I wait for the problem to resolve by itself, which of course never happens) 2-Focus on the behavior (sometimes my focus have been on the student) 3-Keep clam (I need to understand that shouting is a misleading solution to problem behavior)
