This unit is about the importance of the relationship between a teacher and a student in a classroom setting. It demonstrates what is required to be a good teacher as well as what makes a good learner. This includes the importance of a teachers? knowledge of his/her role in a classroom and how to use it efficiently and correctly when teaching as well as giving equal attention to every student in the classroom. This unit also covers what to expect from adult learners and young learners of different ages and how to assess the different levels of understanding each student has of the English language. I have personally learned that as teachers we must not only be passionate about teaching but also find ways to reach and motivate all students in a classroom. Knowing your students is key to preparing lessons which keep your students motivated and excited about learning. A huge part of being a good teacher is the willingness to learn about each students? cultural background as well as how they work in a classroom setting to be able to help them achieve their highest potential.
