In this lesson I learned about materials. There are authentic materials and non-authentic materials. Authentic materials are materials that were made for real usage and not for a teaching or classroom environment. Non-authentic materials are materials that have been made by either a teacher or teaching organization for specific teaching usage. Lesson planning structure is crucial for an organized lesson, however, if the class is not understanding part of a lesson, the teacher should divert away from the rest of the lesson to help the students understand what they are stuck on. Supplemental lessons in the future can make up for the lost time. Book resources are a kind of necessary evil. There will always be a bit of compromise for the teacher, however, the teacher can omit, replace, supplement, and adapt to the material within the book resource to create a suitable lesson plan. Classroom management can be tricky, but is absolutely necessary. Teachers use things like their voice, eye contact, position, intrusions, and a personal knowledge of their students to manage their classrooms.
