In Unit 16 we covered conditionals and reported speech. Some of this grammar stuff is new to me or I learned it somewhere along the line and forgot what it is identified as in a sentence. The conditionals are interesting and I like the idea of the matching game for completing a sentence. It is designed to make it simple for the learner since they would also be identifying the subject of the sentence in order to complete it. The example of the telephone conversation was a good representation, to me, of reported and direct speech because it applies the concept to a real life situation that most people can relate to. The other great idea was the moral question, which I also have had to do in one on my Uni behavioral science courses. It was the moral question of would you kill someone if you thought it would help/save a lot of people... something along those lines. It was even more interesting when my instructor said that he probably would. I found this characteristic surprising coming from an educator, but it also reveals the human element to people that we view as authority figures.
