It was interesting to watch both model lesson videos to see the contrast of teaching styles and the differences in student behavior in reaction to how the instructor taught the class. Regarding the videos themselves, the picture and audio quality was extremely poor, so it was hard for me to even understand what the instructor was saying or showing students (e.g., the teacher's imaginary animal). I also felt that the animals he asked students to name in class seemed really obscure and hard for even me to identify or distinguish (e.g., budgerigar and gibbon). Additionally, during the last activity when the instructor asked students to think of their own animal, I think the instructor should have placed his imaginary animal (the \"Stephensaurus\") on the board next to one of his flashcard pictures of a \"real\" animal on the whiteboard, and reiterated that he wants students in pairs to come up with an imaginary animal. If he had then circled the \"Stephensaurus\" and put an \"X\" by the real animal flashcard, I feel the students would have had a clearer understanding of his instructions.
