Communication between people is a very complex and ever changing phenomena. But there are generalizations made which have particular relevance for teaching and learning of languages. We have previously examine the receptive skills:reading and listening. This unit focus on the productive skills: speaking and writing. Even thou speaking and writing are substantially different in many ways, they both are use for the same purpose which is to communicate. We go further to look at some reasons why people communicate such as ; communicative purposes, want to say something, listen to something, and are interested in what is being said. Also, if a teacher wishes to introduce a communicative activity to the students, he/she should bring in a number of the above factors ; the teacher must also create the need and desire. As a matter of fact , the students have to know the difference between accuracy and fluency activities and also which is more important in the classroom. I will say therefore that , the teacher should always encourage the students to speak and actively participate in the classroom.
