Unit 9 teaches how to prepare and carry out a lesson plan. Straight arrow ESA lesson is used as an example. The lesson plan must include several administrative requirements: date and time, number of students, the name of the teacher, class level and room. In the lesson plan, the following topics must be present: learners? and teacher?s objectives, anticipated problems and their solutions, a procedure describing what actually has to happen during the lesson. The procedure has to be designed according to a decided methodological ESA technique, the simplest being the straight arrow. Each stage of the lesson has a predetermined time and type of interaction ? Student- Student, Teacher ? Student, or Student - Teacher. It is A good idea to perform a self-evaluation after the lesson to be able to monitor the quality of one?s own teaching. In a self-evaluating form the extent to which learners? and personal objectives were met and the accuracy of anticipation of expected problems and solutions are evaluated. Thereafter modifications to the lesson are made accordingly.
