This unit on teaching productive skills is interesting in that there are so many different activities which a teacher can do in order to help students achieve the best results when speaking and writing. For example when teaching speaking activities there is controlled activities such as Tongue Twisters, Guided activities, and creative communication,For example how to make tea. Which activites the teacher decides to do depends on time planning etc. Also the teacher should take in to account how confident, shy, a student is and not force students to speak up in class if you feel they are uncomfortable but offer praise instead by maybe giving them an easier question task etc in order to build up their confidence. When teaching students to write in my opinion its important to make sure enough time is given to punctuation as the incorrect use can completely change the meaning of what the writer actually wants to put across. Although punctuation and grammar are important ? feel that creative writing is too as it can give the writer a sense of achievement and something they can be proud of.
