This unit shows two videos of the same lesson taught by the same teacher to the same students, using different attitudes, language and techniques. The interaction between teacher and students and among students themselves are vastly different in the two videos. In the first video the teacher was quite intimidating and the students seemed quite nervous and reluctant to participate, also the teacher did not give very clear instructions when giving out exercises. The students also only worked on their own so they could not interact with the others. The teacher did not know the names of the students at all and had to ask every time he asked a question, which was quite disrespectful. In the second video the atmosphere is totally different, while the teacher smiles and everybody is keen to participate. Throughout the lesson the teacher involved everyone in the different phases and gave examples of what he wanted to do, and everyone seemed keen to participate. So in conclusion, the attitude and method of teaching will definitely affect the effectiveness of a lesson, even when teaching the same thing.
