This unit covered important details on teaching different groups of students. When teaching beginners, teachers need to be aware of their student's needs, give clear, simple and slow instructions, and not let students use their native language. When teaching individual students, possible activities include listening to pop musics and talking through the lyrics, sharing photos and talking about the subjects, and discussing current topics. It is important to not just talk - but to have a guided structure of some sort to follow. When teaching children, it is important to repeat yourself a lot, to intentionally speak slowly and clearly, and to correct in an positive and encouraging way. Also, teachers need to be consistent, not give threats or raise their voices, and not choose favorites. The unit also covered teaching to business people - usually a very diverse group of students. It is important to give some sort of \"need analysis\" at the beginning of the course in order to create lessons that are applicable to their specific needs.
