This unit has covered the various student evaluating methods. there are number of ways to assess a student's language level. 1. Tutorials: this can take place with the whole group or with the individual students. It may be difficult to conduct individual tutorials after every lesson, but it will be useful if we can spend sometime, for example, 10 minutes at the end of the week. during this time we can review the work done, discuss their aims , analyse how well they have performed and any problems. 2. Evaluation by the students: The students can evaluate their course by means of a questionnaire or guided discussion. it will help to know if they are getting enough grammar or whether the balance of skill work is right. 3. Tests are conducted at different stages of the course. Placement test is done to form the group of students at the same level or diagnostic tests are done to see what the students already know. Other tests which are conducted are the periodic progress test, Achievement test. There are other External exams like TOEFL, IELTS which are to be taken to meet the specific requirements.
