In this unit, I learned that the term ?beginner? can refer to several different kinds of students; there is the absolute beginner, false beginner, adult beginner, young beginner, and the beginner without Roman alphabet. When teaching beginners, you should always understand what the students? needs are and plan ahead, try to use different activities and materials to encourage the class to speak in English and not to use the students? mother tongue in class, the students may end up not trying because they know they will hear it again in their mother tongue. Teaching children may be the most rewarding but they may also be harder to teach because they may get distracted or lose interest easily, so it is important to prepare a number of activities and/or games and to change them frequently, so it stimulates their curiosity. Teaching business English may be challenging as well because some teachers may not have experience in the field, however, the teachers are not there to teach them how to do business but to help them improve in their presentations, conversations, telephoning, etc.
