Unit 14 covers the topic of coursebooks and lesson materials, which is a very emotive isuue for teachers. Materials can be divided into 1) authentic (TV programmes, magazines, newspapers, songs, poems, brochires, menus, films, etc) which are not graded for any level and should be selected very carefully, but useful as real, interesting and motivating, and 2) created (designed by a teacher, e.g.: crosswords, word search puzzles, flash cards, etc.). Course books are a set of materials including a student's book, a workbook, a CD, a teacher's book, and a video, if any. Headway, Reward & English file are based on BrE, whereas Interchange and New Interchange are devote dto AmE. Advantages and disadvantages of using course books were given in detail.
