The unit taught the parts of speech and its usefulness. As native speakers, we can usually think we know each part of speech but it is nice to have a refresher. Although, I can write remember what is a personal pronoun and a superlative is harder to remember. The need to know the grammar rules Is very important when asked by your students. Your students will not respect you if you did not know basic grammar concepts. This Unit also taught me concepts that I have forgotten about. Before taking this unit if someone asked me what a Gerund was, I would not be able to answer. Know I know it is the ing form of a verb used as a noun which is opposed to past participle of a verb. It gave me even greater insight on the rules of English that will be hard to for non-English speakers. As we learned about English natively it is sometimes hard to remember how much memorization of rules we learn. Seeing each individually rules and memorization when we do not follow the rules was an eye opener. I will be saving this PDF for future reference. I hope to keep improving my grammar with this unit and in future Units.
