As aggravating as it can be for students and some teachers, evaluation tests are in fact a helpful tool to indicate a variety of information about the students. For example, their skill and language level and fluency, their motivations, needs and strengths, etc. For each one of them there are different types of tests. The teacher should be prepared to use the one that aid the most to their class and students needs and knowledge.This was a useful unit, in order to learn more about how to teach reading and listening skills. However, I think this unit was rather brief and not that detailed, which made it a bit less interesting. Some things I have learned from this unit is how to teach students effectively reading and listening skilss. For example, that you need to pick and adapt a story to the students their level and find a text that gets them motivated.
