The unit covers the most common problems that teachers may have in the classroom. Some recommendations are given on how to make the first lesson successful, how to deal with reluctant students, how to deal with students of different speaking and listening level of English, or how to manage crowded classes, how to avoid using a native language during the lesson, what ought to be included in the warmer activity to establish rapport.This unit discussed the basics of planning a lesson. It emphasized remaining flexible, what a teacher needs to focus on for a lesson, and gave illustrative examples of a variety of different lessons. It also included forms to use for oneself in lesson planning. It noted that lesson planning is important in order to keep a record of what worked, aid in future planning, and as a guideline during class on what needs to be focused on.
