The unit explained the productive skills of speaking and writing. It presented background, teaching tips and techniques, with practical examples of application and lesson plans. The unit also discussed games; types, resources and how they can be used in language teaching. The splitting up of Receptive and Productive Skills into two units allowed more time in those units to delve into practical teaching ideas and plans. Thanks You, Ian.This unit was great in underlining all potential problems a teacher may experience and general tips to help things go smoother. I learned the appropriate way to start the first lesson and establish rapport through games and ice breaker activities as well as how to handle mixed level classes, large classes and reluctant students. This last unit was very beneficial in giving me the confidence necessary to begin the practice of teaching.
