What I learned in this lesson was that the understanding past tense usage is very useful. Be able to distinguish between the different tenses will help me be a better teacher for my students. Although building relationships with students is very important, having a deep understanding of grammar will provide me with the tools I need to be a better teacher. I believe with practice this lesson will help me in my current teaching position.Watching the two videos was helpful in clearly seeing the difference between the attitude of the teacher in the second video from the first. In the second video, his positive attitude clearly had a positive response from all the students, and his use of gestures, miming, pictures and games made the classroom more lively and exciting. It reminded me to watch my attitude in class and also include more engage/activate phases in my lessons.
