I feel I have gained a lot from this course. I especially found it helpful to be taking this course and teaching lessons at the same time. While it may not have been easy in terms of time-management, it was definitely valuable to be able to put what I was learning into practice right away. This course allowed me to analyze how I?ve done things in the past and see some things I should change. It has supplied me with valuable information, new ideas, and new goals to work towards. What I first found to be most helpful were the grammar review units. I am a fairly new teacher and only recently started teaching adults. Teaching grammar was new to me. Reviewing the tenses and other grammar topics was much needed. The units made me realize where I was lacking knowledge, which is very useful for me as a teacher. I found the units to be clear and very helpful. Completing the worksheets gave me extra practice explaining grammar concepts outside of the classroom. They also revealed grammar areas that I had avoided with students without realizing it. I also gained a great deal from the units on lesson planning. I found preparing a lesson with the engage, study and activate phases to be very efficient. I also now feel prepared to teach groups of adult students, something I have never done. This course has not only helped me in my current teaching jobs (teaching groups of children and adults one-on-one), but has also prepared me for teaching situations I might face in the future. Last but not least, the lists of printed and online resources are extremely valuable. I was already acquainted with a few of these resources, but now I feel much more equipped with possible sources of information. Research is something I value greatly as I plan a new course, so these resources are much appreciated.
