I have gained the necessary knowledge (the grammatical part, explaining pronunciation etc.) and skills (the ESA pattern, lesson planning, games and materials etc.) from this course, which is very important for me to plan my lessons ahead into action as to make the class more effectively, fun and interesting for my students to learn with. I have noticed as well as possessing the knowledge of the language, choosing different materials/aids/course books can also have an impact in the students? learning process, thus it is important for me, as a teacher, to choose the suitable materials according to the students? level, interest and their needs. I have also noticed it is important to have a lesson plan, at least draft and at this stage as a relatively inexperienced teacher, so that I can have a better view on the procedure of what I need to do next in the class, as well as keeping track of the students? record of what they have learnt so far. It is obvious that students at different levels have different needs and wants from learning a language. After completing this course I am more aware of their differences and needs, this gives me more insight into the activities and materials that I need to choose respectively according to the group of students I am going to teach.
