This course has allowed me to reflect a lot about the way of teaching english. It has helped me to understand some grammatical aspects of the english language that were not clear to me any more (such as the use of will for insecure predictions and the use of going to for secure predictions) and has furthermore allowed me to find out what my teaching personality is. I have drawn a lot of ideas from the course and picked up a few very interesting websites. Most importantly, however, the course impressed upon me the importance of the ESA methodology. I am now actively teaching and from the beginning I have been able to plan a class systematically. Without the TEFL course, I would not have been able to take such a systematic approach to organizing a class and I am very thankful that the course has given me so much inspiration. Furthermore, the video in lesson ten was an eye opener for me, because it presented me with a real classroom situation and showed me how a teacher can present new words and grammatical structures to his students. It also allowed me to get a better understanding of time management in the classroom, which remained rather abstract as long as I was planning model classes on a paper. I later complemented the insights from the video with an introductory video from www.genkienglish.com that also helped me a lot to develop a methodology for teaching english. Overall I can say that the TEFL course had a fundamental importance for my development as a teacher and I am happy that I decided to follow
