This unit discussed the two different receptive skills, which are reading and listening. It described how an individual's purpose for reading a text or listening to a dialogue might possibly influence his or her activated receptive specialist skill. This unit also listed down the different kinds of receptive specialist skills that one can use of depending on his or her purpose. I appreciated how this unit included a discussion on the potential problems an instructor might face when it comes to the receptive skills of his or her students and how these problems should be properly addressed. I'd be even more thankful if there will be more examples of a receptive skill lesson plan, for both patchwork a straight ESA-type of lesson.
