Just when I thought I was starting to remember and understand which usages go with which tense, the future tenses appear. I think the part that is especially challenging is realizing that there are some tenses that can be used in different situations depending on the context in which the language is being used. For example, the present simple and the present continuous forms can be used to represent the present and can sometimes be used to talk about the future. A question I still have though is how much of this information do we give directly to students and how much can we just have them learn through practice with the language? There seems to be a lot of little details and rules to remember, even as a native English speaker.
