I found this unit to be both useful and a bit too much. I felt that breaking down the parts of sentences and words in English into areas of stress, for example, is very useful knowledge for English teachers because it can be applied in the classroom pretty directly as a tool for pronunciation. I also found that the visual representations of intonation in a sentence using arrows was useful and is another thing I could reuse in a classroom setting. However, I found the phonetic script to be something I wouldn't use in a classroom because it seems like knowledge that would be very confusing for ESL learners. I think it would have been useful to instead offer a lesson plan or idea for pronunciation activities to enhance this lesson.
