This unit has summarized the various ways a teacher could develop a course for young learners. I learnt that a level test and need analysis is very helpful prior to the commencing of the course as it guides the teacher about what should be taught. I learnt some theories that guide syllabus development for young learners, e.g. structural syllabus which is based sequencing by grammar complexity. I learnt a number of assessments and their purposes for instance aptitude test is use to predict a students future performance on a course. I also understood that course evaluation is not about knowing the best student but how good were teachers' material and make improvements where needed. It can also be a basis of report to the employer.
