The content of the unit is related to the issue of using coursebooks during classes. Some teachers prefer focus their classes around coursebooks, whereas some prefer to rely on their own materials. As both approaches have their advantages, it is better to find the balance in using a coursebook and creating additional material. A teacher may consider several options for coursebook use: omitting irrelevant or unsuitable material; replacing not suitable material with appropriate material; adding reinforcing material; adapting of the coursebook material to other goals. There are also criteria that should be followed when choosing a coursebook: price, availability, difficulty, methodology, design, topics covered, teacher's guide, etc.
