This unit focuses on different ways to evaluate students. There are different ways for English teachers to test students' knowledge of English: placement tests, diagnostic tests, progress tests, and practice tests, which are used to prepare for external English exams like the TOEIC or the TOEFL. Among these, I believe placement tests are the most important because they determine what level of English knowledge students have, and they give us what we need to know to prepare for lessons with these students. I would say that progress tests are second in importance because we need to find out what our students are learning or whether they are learning at all. This is crucial so that we can adjust our materials and our teaching styles.
