Unit 4 Present Tenses, details the usage of the past, present and future tenses used in the English language. Aspects of the the present tenses are simple, continuous, perfect and continuous perfect. The following are examples: Present simple: I work. (statement of present fact) Present Continuous: I am learning. (statement of an ongoing action/event) Present Perfect: I have written. (statement denoting that you done something in the past at an indeterminate time) Present Perfect Continuous: I have been dancing. (statement denoting that you have performed the action and that it is still ongoing) Using tenses in English grammar, in short, when communicating, imparts the context of time of the information exchanged with the listener.
