I have learnt from this unit that there are different ways of evaluating students' levels and progress. To assess a student's language level teachers can use tutorials, evaluation by students and different tests such as placement tests, progress tests, diagnostic tests, practice tests and general external examinations. It might be useful to conduct tutorials at least once a week to review the work done, to check how students perform tasks and to know if they have any problems. Evaluation by the students can be useful in the form of a questionnaire or guided discussion. Different tests are appropriate at different stages in a course. In this case final evaluation can be more profound and it is possible to follow the progress of students.
