In this unit, we learnt about the most common problem situations that teachers encounter when teaching English. In each new teaching position, the teacher will most likely meet a group he doesn't know. In this case, he'll need to establish a rapport between the students and between them and the teacher himself. He'll also need to find out about the students, their needs and aspirations and their English level. We also learnt a few warmers, to warm up the class before diving into more serious topics, such as grammar. Different student levels mean different materials, or using the same materials, but giving out different tasks. When teaching large classes, it's best to pair students in groups, give out worksheets, among other techniques.
