Speaking and writing are the more complex skills than listening and writing for a teacher to teach and for the students to learn as we are actually asking the student to produce the new language. for the students it really depends on their personality which one they would prefer. students with a more outgoing character might prefer the speaking activity working on fluency and as they progress adding the accuracy factor into it. The more shy and introvert student will maybe prefer to write their ideas down as they are not being put on the spot and have more time to think, it is less stressful. But both kind of students will eventually need to master both skills as producing a newly learned language happens equally orally and in writing.
