This unit teaches the four past tenses. It points out the patterns between present and past tense (continuous tenses always uses the helping verb ?be? and an ?ing? verb and perfect tenses always use the helping verb ?have? and the past participle form of the verb). I then learned the form and usage for the past simple, past perfect, past continuous, and past perfect. For each tense, this unit gave examples of common student errors and suggestions of activities to help students practice these tenses (except there weren?t any activity suggestions for the past perfect continuous). This unit also emphasized the differences between easily confused tenses such as the past continuous and past perfect continuous.
