Unit 9 presents a clear format for creating a coherent lesson plan as well as the reasons and importance behind the need to create one. Lesson plans can take many forms from simply jotting down objectives to more thorough and clear plans. The Unit notes stress the importance of a lesson plan for new instructors who lack the experience necessary to stay on target with focused learning objectives and the possible challenges and solutions that may crop up during a class. The lesson plan becomes even more important in the event of an emergency when a substitute teacher might be required. To best serve our students a substitute would need to be able to keep the learning on schedule and this is best done with a concise, yet flexible, lesson plan.
