In unit 12 I learned how to teach Productive Skills. These skills are speaking and writing. Though they are of equal importance, speaking is normally given more attention in the classroom. This is because writing takes more time. When making activities for lessons focused on productive skills, there needs to be a focus on both accuracy and fluency. There are different strategies for teaching speaking a writing. For speaking activities it is important to create a comfortable classroom environment, encouraging the students to speak. For writing classes it is important to have the students focus on improving spelling, layout, punctuation, and handwriting. To do all of this whatever the students are asked to writing about has to be interesting.
