This unit explains how to write a lesson plan. It also gives the reasons why a lesson plan is helpful. A lesson plan is an aide to planning, as we can figure out in detail how long each phase is likely to take etc, and what objectives we plan to achieve. The lesson plan is also useful as a document to which we can refer to throughout the lesson, in order to keep the lesson on track. It is also a record of what has been done in the class, and allows another teacher to cover for your class if you cant make it to work. The unit explains what information needs to be in a lesson plan, and gives us a concrete example. From this unit I have learned the different aspects that need to be present in a lesson plan and how to then fill it out in detail.
