I found the material in this unit to be particularly challenging. The unit covers pronunciation and phonology. It covers the intonation and stress of a phrase and how that can change the tone or meaning of what you are saying. It also covers the phonetic alphabet and what parts of anatomy are used to produce what sounds. As a native English speaker this comes naturally and with time. Having never had to think about what my mouth is doing to produce certain sounds I found this unit challenging. I think the resources provided in this unit will be extremely valuable to teaching. As many students will likely not know how to pronounce certain sounds I will be better equipped to help tech them what part of their mouth to use to produce that sound.
