This unit talks about different teaching methods and techniques. It talks in depth about the ESA model of teaching. The ESA model helps to structure lessons, although the Engage, Study and Activate stages may not always be in a specific order, lessons should always begin with the Engage stage and end with the Activate stage. The Engage stage gets the students thinking about the language. The study stage usually has an activity where they work on a particular concept for the day and focuses more on accuracy. The Activate stage is more focused on fluency and is an opportunity for students to use language they have recently learned. Furthermore, the unit gives specific examples of activities that would be good for each stage of the lesson.
