This unit was quite detailed about the necessary variables needed in order to use the English language proficiently. By breaking down the the language into three distinct categories; vocabulary, grammatical structures, and language functions, is quite effective. By following these categories any class, regardless of level, will be able to understand and apply what is taught. The examples given to reinforce the Engage, Study, Activate (ESA) models makes it easier to do the following: First, get accustomed to lessons planned with the Straight Arrow, Boomerang, and Patchwork ESA structure. Second, get ideas about types of activities to use based on the objective of the lesson. Finally, see the way activities are used in their appropriate phase.
