Unit 18 concludes this course?s coverage of basic English grammar by taking a detailed look at modal auxiliary verbs and the passive voice. It also gives a brief outline of phrasal verbs and relative clauses. The chart showing modal auxiliary verbs, their usages, and example sentences, was especially informative and useful in highlighting the differences between these verbs. This unit increased my awareness of how modal verbs can be used to change the formality and meaning of the main verb. The creative teaching ideas and typical student grammatical issues will likely be helpful when I plan EFL lessons in the future. Moreover, the task sheet gave me suitable practice in changing active voice sentences into the passive voice, and vice versa.
