Unit sixteen tackles conditionals and reported speech. Conditionals are sentences that contain 'if' or 'when' which refer to past, present and future possibilities. The five conditionals (zero, first, second, third, and mixed) are listed, as well as their form, usage, plus some examples of errors that are commonly produced, and some teaching ideas for each conditional. The latter part discusses reported speech, of which the most critical part is the change of tense. An example of this would be going from the present simple to the past simple, the conclusion of which is, given the ample opportunity students have to make errors in this area, it is best to go through each one slowly and thoroughly. Once again it ends finishes with a list of teaching aids.
